Seeking Silly Phrase Pairs for Sign-in Sheet Freight Field
July 12, 2019 6:41 PM   Subscribe

I have to fill out another company's sign-in form for my work trips to gain building access, and have realized an opportunity to insert a dad joke or corny turn of phrase on a certain field of this form because basically no one reads it or cares except for the other people who might casually glance at what others have written; I'm seeking silly phrases to write there.

I am a vendor; I am employed by a specific brand of grocery, and I am tasked with going to various larger grocery stores in my area and stocking that specific brand of product on that store's shelves, out of a set-aside stash in back. When arriving at each store, I have to fill out a vendor sign-in form to record when I've been there, and sometimes get a special badge that lets me in their backroom without being asked why I'm back there.

At one particular store, there is a space on the sign-in sheet for essentially "what product you're bringing" and most other vendors for other brands simply put "merch" there, and nobody from the store seems to bother reading it.

For the last few months I have been putting silly things in that space, and no one from any of the stores have called me out on it. I visit this one particular store twice a day, so I fill out the form twice, so I have been trying to come up with pairs of short phrases to use for that space.

For example:

Name: Jed, In: 330pm, ID:308, Company:ABC, Freight:merch, Out:445pm
Name: Ted, In: 345pm, ID:442, Company:XYZ, Freight:merch, Out:501pm
Name: Mike, In: 403pm, ID:409, Company:TX2, Freight:Intergalactic Planetary, Out:449pm
Name: Mike, In: 610pm, ID:409, Company:TX2, Freight:Planetary Intergalactic, Out:733pm
Name: Ned, In: 614pm: ID:115, Company:JKL, Freight:merch, Out:655pm

"Intergalactic Planetary" is about the max length/characters that will fit in the blank, so nothing longer than that. Other pairs I've put before are:

Snips, Snails
Puppy Dog Tails

Sugar, Spice
Everything Nice

Da Noise
Da Funk

real cool head
real good bread

dashing good looks
winsome charm

..but I'm looking for something more along the lines of funny or silly, that another vendor who can read the list of other people signing in, and might crack a grin at something corny/silly in the merch column. Suggestions are pop culture references, song lyrics possibly from very well-known songs, and sfw innocent jokes/puns.. not like "let the bodies / hit the floor" etc in-jokes appreciated, especially if google-able.

The Snips/tails pair is from a famous childrens poem, as is the sugar/nice pair; noise/funk refers to ('Bring in da Noise, Bring in da Funk' song from the 90s, which works well because it's 'something I'm bringing in'); head/bread is from Beach Boys lyrics, and the last is just nonsense =)

Any other ideas?

I should add that I'm not sure about the second one because clearly the other little piggy stayed home.

Google the Billboard Top 40 songs of the week for 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50 years in the past and use song titles, parts of lyrics or band names. You could also do movie titles but something about a song title or splice of lyric or almost forgotten band name will trigger something in someone's memory, taking them and maybe you back to younger days. Could be a lot of fun. Happy searching!
