Help naming a business to automate tasks for other businesses
July 3, 2019 1:47 PM   Subscribe

I'm looking into starting a small business where I'll help out other businesses by automating repetitive tasks. I've already done this a lot at my current job, using Python, VBA and Excel and have saved my co-workers a lot of time by streamlining tasks. The problem I'm struggling with is coming up with a name for the business. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a business name?

I think someone posted a similar questions recently and someone suggested using wordoid.com

It generates names that at least attempt to sound like real words, and you can tell it a specific word or syllable to start or end the names with. And it gives you a link to see if the domain is available.

Scriptique
Scrypticon

Are you expecting local clients/your region or from anywhere, if local where? as it'd be helpful in co,ming up with names.

Are your target customers small businesses or large? As a small business owner, I have an inexplicable attraction to software/services with cute names. I think you might benefit from having something that connotes "robot" (for automation) or "butler" for taking care of the service for you. Heh, Robotler! Robutler!

Here are 3 quasi-obscure words that may help: Seneschal (a medieval house supervisor), majordomo (similar to seneschal; a house steward), factotum (an employee who does a variety of kinds of work).

Script It

Optimization Consulting; we analyze business practice and use scripting solutions to repetitive tasks.

This is what fancy consultants like the Big 5 promise. Our CEO at one company came from McAndersen XYZ, and I can't say much for it. They charge a ton. Don't undersell yourself as a consultant; people respect you and your work if you charge for it. My advice would be to totally promote yourself at your current job. Your work is handy, where handy means you save them tons of money.
