One email in Thunderbird inbox won't delete.

I occasionally get forwarded emails from a friend, but distrust the source, so delete them without opening. Today I got one that won't delete. It disappears for a couple of seconds, then pops back into the inbox despite being unopened. Other emails will delete. How can I get rid of this? I have already asked my friend to not forward these.

Best answer: A few troubleshooting steps.

1. If the email account you have has a webmail option, try logging in to that and seeing if you can delete the email that way.
2. Try deleting it via menus and not the usual keyboard way (click right mouse button on the mail, select 'move to -> local directory -> trash')
3. check to see if you have a corrupted trash folder.

Are you running AVG or some other program that might quarantine emails? If so, check their troubleshooting steps.
