Gimme a hand to identify the places in these vintage photos please. I'm especially curious about the last two.
Does not look like the Canada building at the Columbian Exposition.
Buffalo (NY) exposition has scanty photos.
Not St. Louis worlds fair.
I do agree the bottom building looks Indian - probably during or post British occupation. Not saying it is in India, just that the style of the towers gives that impression.

I was thinking that the Canada building might be at the Pan American Exposition in Buffalo, but looking at a map of the grounds, the Canada building looked fairly small, and it wasn't on a canal.

Response by poster: Ah, not Kilmainham then! Thanks! And while I am here, the World Fairs sound like a good idea, since the building seems much more Indian-ish than actually Indian? We aren't American though so they aren't more likely than elsewhere.

Best answer: The last one looks a bit like the Indian Pavilion at the British Empire Exhibition in London in 1924.

The Canada one would also seem to be from the 1924 Exhibition.

The angle on these two photos of the Indian Pavilion matches the one in your photo a bit better. I'm also fairly confident that the third photo is taken from the entrance looking in.

Response by poster: I think scorbet has it there, with a great assist from Glomar response!
It makes sense geographically but is a little more prosaic than we had thought. Thanks al!

Ah, good. I figured that there might be a problem with my guess, because personal photography wasn't much of a thing yet in 1893. But I had answer-post fever, I confess.

For pix 3 & 4, Google "India Building - World's Fair Chicago 1893" for comparison.
