Would Postmates work for this delivery situation?

I work for a small local business that makes food. Sometimes people want what we make delivered, but this business has not seen fit to either provide delivery or sign up with any of the myriad food delivery apps like DoorDash, GrubHub, UberEats, etc. This is not even my problem, but since I'm the one on the phone with customers I want to be helpful!

I've never used Postmates, had to check to see if they were in my city, have actually only heard of it on podcasts, don't know anybody who's actually used it. But their website says "Anything, Anywhere, Anytime" so that seems promising.

I don't want to sign up for an account just to figure this out, you guys tell me....could a customer place an order to be picked up with us and then use Postmates to get it delivered to them? Without us having any account or relationship with Postmates? Could a delivery be scheduled days in advance? What's the shortest turnaround time, call to delivery? What the approximate price for, say, a 5 mile trip?

Thanks for your help! (and any alternative ideas you have!)

I would hesitate before recommending a third party service to customers especially without management approval. Complaints, etc that should be with the third party service will start coming in against your place of work and there's not much you can do about it.

If someone is savvy enough to know about Postmates already they ought to know how it works and who to deal with.
