I am looking for a guides, apps, blogs and other resources that will allow metouse my new Google Pixel 3A XL camera at its full potential. There are a lot of things hidden in the settings that I will never be able to find on my own. In particular, I am looking for a guide to the camera features that I can access easily.

The real magic of the Pixel camera is that you basically should never change the settings. The images it generates without intervention are pretty amazing. You will occasional get notifications like "Move Back for Better Focus", "Try Night Sight", or "Clean Camera Lens"; you should follow those directions.

I do have one tip though, if you quickly double-press the power button the camera will open (works when you're using the phone, if it's locked, etc). Pressing the volume down button will shoot a photo.

I don't actually like using Night Sight at night, because the software tries to replicate daylight instead of accurately capturing a nighttime scene. I do like to use Night Sight during the day, however.

Take a lot of photos, since (if you've configured things that way) all of your images are backed up to the cloud anyway. No need to worry about onboard storage filling up.

Experiment with panoramas -- Google Photos will stitch different images together.

Remember that it's an extreme wide-angle lense. What looks interesting to the human eye will be distant in the captured image. So, either frame your shots accordingly so that they're interesting, or be sure to move right up close, in order to replicate what you're seeing with your mind's eye.

One neat thing in the Pixel 3 camera, I assume the 3a is the same, is "digital zoom" isn't just bullshit. It has some magic where it takes multiple exposures and extrapolates so the zoomed in photo has more detail than just a magnified image.
