What kratom brands/strains/vendors do you recommend for lower back pain?

Looking for suggestions from personal experience.

I am looking to try kratom primarly for lower back pain, but getting a boost in energy and mood would be great too.

This will be my first time trying it. I have read some stuff online and looked at some vendors, but it's hard to know what sources to trust, especially given the money motivation that many web sites have.

I am looking for recommendations based on personal experience. What online vendors have you had good experience with? or what brands that are available in smoke shops do you recommend? What strains?

Thanks!

P.S. I hope this should be obvious, but if you were inclined to proselytize on the eeeevils of kratom and how it should be illegal, please skip it. I'm going to try it despite your immense wisdom. Kthanks.

Best answer: Please don't buy it from head shops -- a lot of that stuff is sketchy and some of it is even spice/k2. That's the source of a lot of the hysteria around the plant.

The best vendors are member only, and it probably wouldn't be doing any of them any favors to post here. There are some decent public ones. I'll PM you the name of a reputable one I've purchased from before.

As far as strains, I really haven't noticed *all* that much difference. I really like green malay for a combination of pain relief and anxiety reduction, but red strains are also nice. White's are known for giving you energy, but again, I haven't noticed that much of a difference across strains except that randomly I'll come across one that makes me nauseous.

I've found great benefits in kratom for my very messed up lower back (ruptured discs, stenosis, and scoliosis, oh my!). Between kratom and cbd, I rarely even need to take ibuprofen anymore, for which my stomach is thankful. I hope it works similarly well for you.

Best answer: I highly, highly recommend Treasure House Botanicals. For energy and mood, I like the white strains and am particularly fond of the Modern White Maeng Da. I currently have a sample of the White Elephant Maeng Da, which is also good. One of the things I like about Treasure House is the samples; I've tried some good strains that way.

I will note that the current batch of the Modern White (#37) from Treasure House doesn't seem quite as potent as some of the previous batches, but it's still very good.

I find the Treasure House products to be much less queasy-making than the competitors, and it seems to come in a finer powder that mixes into water more readily.

I've also used Botanical Bunny and was very pleased. Their red strains seem more potent, but the grind is not as fine and I find the red strains, regardless of source, almost always give me nausea. Botanical Bunny always includes some hard candies in the order to quell the nausea side effect, which is a nice touch.

Both Treasure House and Botanical Bunny have great customer service. I think either vendor would be happy to discuss what strains you might like.

Be aware that if you use kratom daily for weeks, you will likely experience some unpleasant withdrawal-like symptoms. It's not unmanageable but is noticeable for me.
