What's the best way to fundraise for a friend?

I want to raise some money among my personal network for a family that I am friends with. I want something easy, without a lot of fees, and that will allow the money to get to them quickly.

I am willing to collect money in some sort of personal venmo or paypal and give it to them - I think people would trust me to do that. But not everyone has venmo or paypal.

I am also willing to set up a GoFundMe type thing, but my impression is it could awhile for the money to get transferred.

If you have experience with this, can you share how it worked? What works best? I want it to be very easy and for anyone who is inclined to be able to donate.

The amount of money we are talking about here is a few hundred dollars, nothing major.

GoFundMe has comparable fees to any other platform, and has an option to set up automatic deposits to the target bank account daily, weekly, or monthly. It doesn't take long to set it up and start getting money. When you promote the campaign via email or social media, you can also encourage people to donate directly to you or the recipient via Paypal or Venmo.
