Looking for Android or other device for copying microsd cards

I would like to be able to copy files (in the size range of 500 mb or less) from one microsd card to another. This needs to be a portable solution, so I was thinking an Android device might work?

I will have microsd cards that I need to copy files to/from when I am away from my computer. I don’t know much about Android devices or other things that would let me do this.

The microsd cards I would like to use would range in size between 8gb to 128gb, and the files (videos) would be around 500mb or less. So I suppose I need something with two microsd slots that I can move files between directly, or a way to copy files to the device’s internal memory and then I can insert the second microsd card and copy from the device to the card.

I don’t know much at all about Android devices, but is there something I can use to do this? I will not need to use it for anything else, so I don’t need phone functions or apps other than what I need to view videos and copy files. I’m looking for something on the cheap side, I definitely don’t need the latest and greatest. Maybe $75 or less would be ideal.

Do you know what phone/device would be good for me to use?

I've done this with a small wifi tablet that supported USB On-The-Go, and had a microSD port. It was very fiddly.

Step 1: pop open the back case.
Step 2: insert microSD card.
Step 3: plug microSD reader into the microSD port using an On-The-Go cable
Step 4: Use a file manager to copy data between the two

The tablet was, I think, the long-discontinued HP Stream 8, which ran Windows and was the best bet at the time for something that could support USB OTG robustly. Some Android tablets do support this workflow also but I don't have any recommendations.

You can get a multiformat card reader for under $20 then just plug it into whatever device you have handy (many Androids support OTG now) or want to dedicate to it.

Looks like you could use something like this - Manhattan imPORT Hub Mobile OTG Adapter, Micro USB 2.0 to 3-Port USB 2.0 Hub, 24-in-1 Card Reader/Writer - that might be able to take a µSD in an SD adapter plus another µSD card in the other slot, or accept a USB µSD adapter in its USB hub port. Copying USB 2 to USB 2 isn't going to be fast. Depending on your device, you might be able to find a USB 3 OTG reader.

This Alxum Card Reader supports two cards simultaneously Amazon link

I don't have a recommendation for which device to get. But this reader should work with any recent Android device that has a USB-C port.
