Podcast That Would Be Interested In Buckminster Fuller

I am producing an event about Buckminster Fuller on his birthday in July. The event wil be taking place in Downtown Los Angeles. I am looking for ways to promote the event and thought about contacting podcasts for interviews would be an interesting approach. I am looking for Me-Fites to recommend podcasts that would be interested in Fuller's work and ideas and who may be open to an advance interview with speakers who will be contributing to the event.

Obviously 99 Percent Invisible should be on your list; they're based on Radio Row in beautiful downtown Oakland. Episode 64 covered one of Fuller's domes.

If you have an economic angle, The Indicator or Planet Money might be good. The Indicator produces a short show every weekday so I bet they are always looking for good content on a short timeline.

DnA (Design and Architecture) is KCRW's show about, well, you know.
DnA: Design and Architecture reports on the design and urbanism trends that shape our lives, in Los Angeles and beyond. The show is global in outlook, but local in focus: Los Angeles, a laboratory for intense creativity as well as friction over what direction the region should take. DnA brings stories from the practitioners, users and critics in art, design, fashion and graphics, movie production and video game design, architecture, transportation and urban design.
At the very least, you have a good shot of getting your event on their weekly 5 Design Things To Do email/social blast. Plenty of Fuller-related things have come up there in the past.

If a story is what you're after, here's KCRW's pitch page. (Yes, we read our emails. No, I don't work on DnA.) Bear in mind that we don't do stories about events, per se. It helps to have a very specific (and, particularly, L.A.-centric) pitch or aspect of Fuller's life or work that you'd like to explore. If they bite on that, then they'll plug the event as a matter of course, but you should start with a compelling story.

Chris Sacca (@sacca on Twitter) is a big fan of I Seem To Be A Verb. He was Gimlet Media’s first investor and can probably get in touch with someone over there. I sent him this link but you may want to try reaching out as well since he gets a lot of tweets directed his way.

If one (or more) of your speakers is game to travel to SF to give a live talk, the seminar series at the Long Now's Interval might be worth a try.
