I need to bring a weaving from Merida; approx 6 ft long, 18" wide, maybe 50 lbs. to the States. Rigid; cannot be folded.

I think you want to bring it as luggage if your airline allows it. The only reliable shipping is via DHL and it is very pricey (though fast). I shipped a fairly heavy small box and I think it was $100, though you can get a quote on their site. The national postal service is about half the price but it will take weeks and as I understand it the reliability is very poor.

DHL is my go to for shipping in and out of Mexico. The local postal service is very unreliable.

DHL wants US$300 for a 20 kg (200 X 45 X 10 cm) package from Mérida to California.
