Best option for low volume but *easy* document scanning

Document scanner options. I have a need to scan a few double sided letter and A4 size documents on a reasonably regular basis. I find using a flat bed scanner very tedious. Options?

I am attracted to the Visioneer Paperport type of sheet scanner, but would like to hear any experieinces.
The pages are just printed text with the occasional graphic.
The output requirement is ideally JPG for easy web display but PDF would be OK if the single PDF file contained both sides of the sheet. Greyscale would be OK too.
A key feature would be ease of use.
Their are Paperport scanners on ebay for $20, so I might just try one unless there are recommendations otherwise.

Check out the Fujitsu ScanSnap. It isn't cheap, and it isn't a TWAIN scanner. It scans straight to a PDF. I love mine. It'll scan both sides of a page in a few seconds.

I worked in an office that had 2 or 3 ScanSnaps. They do a great job, and I highly recommend them... but they might be too pricey for your needs.

Any full duplex scanner is going to be significantly more expensive. We have a full duplex a4/legal scanner made by Xerox. I think it was something to the effect of $1200.

The ScanSnap, which is a full duplex, a4/legal scanner is about $400. Its duty cycle is probably not as high as the full on Xerox, but it seems to work well for lighter volume. I think it's got a pick-up wheel that needs to be replaced every 10,000 pages or something, but that's a lot of pages for a small office or home.

The HP ScanJet 5590 [HP, Amazon] is a duplex letter-size flatbed scanner with a 50-page document feeder.

Not cheap, but not $1200 either.

I have one, and it works very well for my purposes (more or less the same as yours).
