Looking for suggestions of books/movies/articles where the female half of a heterosexual partnership is the primary breadwinner. It can be a plot point or an aside, but the relationship must be overall positive.

The movie "Mr. Mom"?

"220, 221 -- whatever it takes."

Also, for clarification: what about stories with single moms? Or are you specifically looking for a reversal of the usual dynamic in couples?

Fargo (the film) implies Marge is the breadwinner.

Spending. Both partners have ups and downs financially, and for part of the novel the woman is the primary earner, supporting her male partner.

Crazy Rich Asians includes such a marriage. The dynamic is a little bit different between the book and the movie.

I'm picturing a lot of royalty, probably more than you're hoping for: Leia and Han in Star Wars, Princess Jasmine in Aladdin, etc. What about Elizabeth Swan and Will Turner in the Pirates of the Carribean franchise? Or the Incredibles 2 where "Bob Parr (Mr Incredible) must manage the house while his wife Helen (Elastigirl) goes out to save the world." I'm having too much fun to be helpful. Sorry.

In The Children Act (book and film) Fiona Maye would be on a salary of £181,000 as a High Court judge. Her husband, as a UK-employed university professor, would be doing well to be earning half that.
