This picture of the band Broken Social Scene looks like it was taken on the platform of a railway station - the visible part of the sign reads "ewes Street". What's the full name of the station (if it is a station?), and where in the world is it?

Hewes Street Station in Brooklyn.

Note the distinctive white lettering and font on black background by which MTA signage may universally be recognized. There are no elevated train tracks (=outdoor stations) in Manhattan south of 96th St. anymore but still a number in the outer boroughs.
