8 year old niece loves chapter books, graphic novels, and singing. Birthday present hope me? Books ideal but other gift ideas welcome.

My step-daughter is close to the same age as your niece. She LOVES to sing. We bought her a little CD player for her room and a bunch of movie soundtracks to sing along to. It's so low-tech, but she really likes being able to switch out the CDs and have a sense of autonomy around her music; she uses it all the time.

YOu could try Lithographs for shirts, scarfs, and temporary tattoos based on text of books. If she has a favorite show or book, you could try Etsy for related merchandise; here's a selection for The Greatest Showman.

Mouse Guard is a beautiful graphic novel series. There's some violence but mostly not graphic, and it mostly occurs between the panels and pages.

Redwall is a classic and well-loved novel series, also featuring anthropomorphic mice in a fantastical/medieval setting.

Really, everyone should be reading mouse fantasy imo, but it's especially great for kids.

Perhaps a bit young for her but When Marian Sang might be good.

Best answer: She might be a bit young, depending, but the Anne McCaffery’s Harper Hall Trilogy has the main character Menolly, a young musically talented girl. Her musical talent features prominently. The first book is Dragonsong.
