animal videos!

Lookin for some strong animal video/doc content to beef up my lazy day list of stuff to watch

I'm new in these parts, and it seems like you're a smart scienc-y fun varied bunch, and it also seems like you'd be a good crowd to source for some great ANIMAL VIDEOS! Not for any particular reason other than entertainment, but I want to watch *good* animal content. I love shark documentaries but I've found some are edited to be annoying. Herky jerky or all flash no point.

I've seen most of Planet Earth and those were fun. Anyone have a go-to YouTube channel, or a documentary filmmaker, or a TV show (those still exist right?), or something you just think is awesome? Remember that thread on twitter where a bunch of ocean people played chess? Here this one. Something with that vibe. Maybe I'm looking for fun animal twitter threads, too!

Thanks y'all. This place is fun. :-D

(I did check the archived questions and didn't find this exact answer, but am happy to be directed towards a thread where this already happened if it did!)

These might skew a little young, but on youtube I enjoy...
Animal Wonders - an animal sanctuary/educational outreach program. Jessie shows a lot of the hard work and love that goes into taking good care of all their animals.

Brave Wilderness - It's like Attenborough meets Jackass? Sometimes they have amazing footage and interesting information, and sometimes it's the host getting himself stung by bullet ants on purpose. He's pretty much exactly what you'd think someone called 'Coyote Peterson' would be like. But watch the video with the baby ocelot if nothing else.

Deep Look is more grown up, and sponsored by PBS. It's not strictly animal content, but most of it is. It's all gorgeous extreme closeup and microscope footage of the very small.

Don't know if this is exactly what you are looking for but I LOVE 'Vet Ranch" on YouTube. It's so positive and heartwarming. The format is sick/injured homeless animal gets critical health care it needs and gets adopted. You'll get all the feels.

* If you are squeemish there is surgery footage, but it's blurred out unless you click the unedited version.

Response by poster: okay so far I am very excited. y'all are the best and this sounds great. microscopic footage sounds PERFECT. I'm not particularly squeamish (I'm a nurse!) but I don't love surgery footage, not a problem I'll go for the blurred vids. woo! I hope my cats like these selections too :-D

Is this where I recommend True Facts? Short docu-spoof style videos, often very nicely filmed, with amazing true facts mixed with silliness and some NSFW language.

Jump on board the world's largest safari vehicle for twice daily live, interactive game drives (and sometimes walks) in the Greater Kruger region of South Africa and the Mara Triangle in Kenya. You can even post questions to Twitter or YouTube during the broadcasts to have them answered in real time. Check out WildEarth's page for details, and subscribe to the safariLIVE YouTube channel. If you need encouragement, we've been following four lion cubs up in Kenya, and they are ridiculously cute.

Oh, and check out Explore.org for quality documentary films and lovely live nature cams. The cams aren't narrated, but some have ambient audio, and they're enjoyable and relaxing to watch.
