How does Paul McCartney say it?

Does Paul call Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band "Sergeant Pepper" or "Sergeant Peppers"?

I'd like to know how McCartney has referred to the album in interviews, etc. Anyone have a clip where he specifically mentions the name?

In this clip, I heard him call it just “Pepper” twice. Once shortly after 2 mins, once around 8:30. Hope that helps.

In this written interview, he says "Pepper." I'd also swear I've heard him say "Pepper" in an interview on TV, but I can't source it. Further FWIW, John Lennon also referred to the album as "Pepper," as seen in the Wikipedia article about it; that's also the style throughout the article.

I don't have a clip but I've seen about eleventy billion Beatles documentaries and interviews and they all, including George Martin or anyone who worked on it, just call it "Pepper".

Best answer: Okay I just did a search for "Pepper" on my ecopy of Man on the Run: Paul McCartney in the 1970s and the album is referred to as "Sgt. Pepper" 13 times and "Sgt Pepper's" zero times. Some of these are direct quotations from McCartney (who was interviewed specifically for this biography) and some are the author's references.

There's a lot of clips of Sir. Paul talking about Sgt. Pepper's on the net. Here's one where he talks about the album cover, and says "Sgt. Pepper's". Another interview he uses the full title. And here, talking about Hendrix covering the song he uses the full title.

More than likely he switches it up. In writing, it'd get tiresome to keep writing "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band" or even just "Sgt. Pepper's" - not shocked if he just writes "Pepper" more often than not.
