Void Vision. If you've watched Wild Wild Country, this track might sound familiar.

I am shocked and appalled to realize that it is now 11 years old and probably no longer counts as contemporary, but the Portishead album Third might scratch the itch, although it may not be sufficiently dancy.

Purity Ring lights up many of the same pleasure centers for me as Grimes, but they may be too poppy for you.

Maybe CHVRCHES? Maybe Fever Ray?

FWIW: Crystal Castles is problematic, as Ethan Kath abused the vocalist Alice Glass. Alice's solo stuff is good, though.

St. Vincent: Los Ageless is representative of her current work or Digital Witness from a previous album.
