Indoor swimming in West Houston?

I will be in Houston (west side of town) for the first two weeks of February.
I'm looking for a place where I can do lap swimming, indoors or in a heated outdoor pool.
Hotel pools are too small. I couldn't find any community centers with indoor pools.
Am I missing something?

Check with your local YMCA about reciprocal visitor options at other Ys. It may be available at the Houston locations.
It may mean filling out paperwork and paying fees. Can you save time by doing it from home? I would bring copies and confirmation letters, in case the staff does not know how to handle it or the paperwork is "lost."
Check online for open swim and lap swim times, local parking, and if locker rental is available (bring a lock.)
In Oklahoma City most of the community college and university pools have closed down in the last ten years. Scuba diving clubs and high school swim teams have lost their winter training facilities.

Just documenting a negative; I believe Rice University requires you be affiliated with Rice or with a friend who is.
