Tracking "Last-Read" on Twitter

I follow a super prolific Twitter user. Web/mobile web interface make it painful to stay current via periodic check-ins (must scroll and scroll, eagle-eyed to catch the point of "last-read" in his feed). Would a (Mac or ios) Twitter client help?

Again, I only need to do this with one single Twitter user's feed, not with my total/merged/whatever-they-call-it feed.

I use my RSS reader to follow the twitter accounts where I don't want to miss a single tweet.

Response by poster: I'm not much of an RSS guy, and have never used RSS to read Twitter. Would this add a step if I want to view a threadlet, or view replies, etc etc?

Best answer: Are you married to using a desktop? Because my phone app (tweetbot) does this automatically.
