Political subreddits

Can you please recommend some good political or news subreddits for me to read? I'm looking for ones that are at least somewhat (or very) progressive/left wing and don't have lots of racist/sexist/homophobic/transphobic comments.
/r/LateStageCapitalism may or may not be what you are looking for, but it is heavily moderated and comments containing slurs or ableist language are removed.

Re: /r/LateStageCapitalism, it's often TOO moderated and they do it with bots so it's sometimes silly. I still find interesting things there, however and no trolls.

Best answer: My personal favorite is /r/politicaldiscussion. It's an order of magnitude smaller than the main political subs (<500K subscribers) but each post still gets a few dozen or hundred substantive answers. Topics run the gamut from elections to legal issues to world politics to history. Examples:
Some other decent subs:
For humor, /r/The_Mueller is a fine parody of the_donald, and /r/ENLIGHTENEDCENTRISM does some satisfying dunking on "both sides" rhetoric in the media. /r/fuckthealtright does what it says on the tin.
/r/FriendsofthePod, for news and discussion about Crooked Media's popular line of political podcasts.
/r/NewPatriotism celebrates egalitarian American ideals from history and covers the fight to preserve them today.
/r/RussiaLago and /r/Keep_Track, for keeping tabs on the sprawling Russia investigation.
/r/esist for general anti-Trump news and organizing.

- How will the landscape of Right-to-Work laws change due to this year's gubernatorial elections?
- What's next for Mexico with the upcoming inauguration of Andrés Manuel López Obrador as President?
- Decreasing diversity of experience on the Supreme Court
- Did New York City and Crystal City pursue the right economic development strategies to attract Amazon? Or did they make too many concessions? What should cities’ economic development policies look like in terms of attracting business?
- What do the recent protests in Pakistan mean for the country, could TLP represent an actual threat to the government? How should the government respond to this without inflaming the movement further?

Response by poster: Thanks so much you all, this is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. Plenty to get me started with a new multi.
Special thanks to Rhaomi for the detailed list. And for the humorous suggestions. The_Mueller is exactly the thing I didn't know I needed in my life.
