UK food processor recommendations

I'm looking for a good-quality, reasonably-priced food processor that's available in the UK. The budget is £150-£200. The Cuisinart Custom processor that Wirecutter recommends is not available in the UK (and the Cuisinart processor that is on sale here isn't of the same quality it seems). The UK processor that I've seen recommended in a few places (the KitchenAid 3.1L) has a lot of bad customer reviews.

I have a prior version of this (mine has one extra non-food chute lid, which I rarely use as I find it easier to just have the food chute lid on 99% of the time and they seem to have ditched that non-food chute lid from the kit now), which has pretty much done everything I want it to do. The jug size is handy but also frustrating as it doesn't fit under cupboards when on the base, so I have to store it separately. Which? last reviewed that in May this year and gave it 63%

Best answer: I highly recommend Magimix products. The motors are built by hand in France, and have a 30 year warranty. I have seen a small French woman stand on a BPA free bowl without it cracking or breaking in any way, and they're heat resistant. Disclaimer; I did work on their PR team but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to you without. Check out BBS Spares for discounts on old colourways. If you're not sure what model you need, you can also call up the the Magimix customer services team - absolute gems with old school customer service ethics who know their food processors inside out.

Best answer: The small Magimix is just over the top of your budget at £215 on Amazon right now. I think we have the next size up though - the smll one does look a bit small to me.

Not cheap. but ours has certainly lasted.

Response by poster: The small Magimix

Is that the "3200XL"?

Response by poster: Leaning towards the Magimix 3200 (which has a significant saving on Debenhams right now). I think the only difference to the 3200XL is the lack of an XL feed tube.

I've just recently treated myself to a Tefal DO824H40 DoubleForce Pro, 1000W which does absolutely everything I want, and some things I don't.

It comes with lots of accessories which I'll most probably never use, but wouldn't be in the least surprised to find that it can split the atom. The only downside I've found so far is the instruction book which has rather gruesome images of cutting yourself on a sharp blade and little else (it's all images). This is in line with other reviews, but in terms of actual use I'd highly recommend it. A bit under your budget too.

That's the one. I think we have the next size up, although it's hard to tell because we bought ours 20 years ago. The pulse button stopped working last month, but the rest of it is still going . I’ll probably take it apart at some point and see if the button is fixable.
