I want to read a book about the Voyager Record

I was looking through a gallery of the images sent from Earth on the Voyager Record and it took my breath away. I'd love to read a book that talked about the history of the Record- how they picked the images, what each image is, explanations of everything- and if it talked about the audio choices and stuff as well then that's great too. What's the best book written about the Voyager Record?

Best answer: Murmurs of Earth by Carl Sagan is the definitive book on the subject (not like I've seen any others). If my memory serves me correctly he goes into quite a bit of detail about the things you're interested in. There was an edition of the book in the 90s that came with a double-CD set of the Record's contents.

Response by poster: Ha in all my googling and looking at different options I never noticed the author. This is almost certainly exactly what I want, thanks!

There was a Kickstarter in 2017 for an anniversary Voyager project that also had a book, though that Sagan book is likely much more informative.
