ISO double garment rack

My room doesn't have a closet, so I'm looking at garment racks. I like the style that has two tiers and some shelves (like this), but most seem to have online reviews suggesting they don't actually have enough length for men's shirts to hang without dragging along the bottom. I keep trying to wade through reviews to figure this out and getting stuck. Can anyone recommend a sturdy double rack with long enough spaces on both tiers? (ideally for less than $50 but I can go a little higher if necessary.)

I have something very much like what you linked to. You put it together yourself, so you can choose the exact placement/height of shelves and rods. Just measure how long your shirts are and you can make it work!

Whichever one you choose, also get a cover. Clothing stored in open racks gets quite dusty and also can get UV damage/fading depending on window locations in the room.

I wear a 37" sleeve dress shirt, and my shirts seem to run about 35" from collar to hem, not counting the additional height of a hanger. Add that in, and the minimum workable distance from rod to lower shelf seems to be about 41". But then you also need a gap above each rod so you can get hangers onto it, so maybe 46" of vertical space is required for each shirt area. Twice that is 92". Plus you don't want it to sweep the floor, so you need a minimum total height of about 96" (in other words, eight feet) to make this work for two rows of shirts. If you're shorter than I am and your shirttails don't hang quite as low as mine, subtract accordingly, but I doubt you can do this at all in 84" of total height or less.

Yes, take measurements, and see if this adjustable height and width rolling garment rack suits; it's $20, and you'd look for separate shelves. Also, read the comments for tips to make the unit sturdier (like leaving off the wheels, for example). See here as well for a more expensive option with more shelving.

Hanging your shirts exclusively on the upper rack might be best (plus hanging heavier trousers on the lower rack adds stabilizing weight to the base). You may also like the "higher hanger" option - clothes hangers with shorter necks, for greater clearance.

Have you considered an IKEA wardrobe like this?
