Help find a book: one's personality is written on the body

Newer Novel. Genre: science-fiction/literary.

A novel, came out within the past year. The premise is something like: your future/your true character appears on your arm/other body part and can't be removed. That is all I can remember.

Not the particular story you are looking for but along vaguely similar lines you might enjoy Theodore Sturgeon's short story The Graveyard Reader.
