Downloading videos from Archive.org to my iPad

I have an iPad Mini running the latest iOS. Hey would like to edit some videos from the Prelinger Archives into a short with iMovie. Unfortunately, I can’t figure out how to download videos from the website directly to my iPad, but I can’t figure out how to do this.

I’ve tried holding down the link to see if anything comes up in the pull-down menu and holding down the videos (the way I would with a still image), but nothing relevant comes up in the menu. Is there something I’m missing, or do I have to download the videos to my Drive on a computer and then open them on my iPad?

You can save to Dropbox and depending on your settings you can have it saved on your mini.

The free Documents app by Readdle works well for downloading files using the built in browser. From there you can “open in” or move to locations in the files app
