How do I get the DSCC to stop emailing me??

I have used the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email (multiple times), but they still have not stopped. I even got the "we get it you need to take a break" confirmation. What do I need to do?

Best answer: If unsubscribe fails, set up a filter. Trivial to set up in gmail; possible to set up elsewhere. Move to mail off into a corner where it's out of sight. Read or bulk delete it later, depending on your whim of the moment.

Best answer: I have tons of these and I just set up filters to skip the email and send straight to the trash.

I had this happen only with calls. After I tried unsubscribing from their link unsuccessfully twice, I just googled for any email with an @dscc.org email address and put them on blast. It worked, but only after I had to reply all to my first email that it was still happening.

Best answer: Email info@dscc.org.

Best answer: Places that won't stop emailing me is a huge pet peeve of mine. If unsubscribe fails, sometimes I call the organization and tell them to stop. Be polite but clear. The person who answers will rarely know how to fix the problem, but if you make it clear you need them to figure it out, you can often get the issue fixed. I tend to call when I'm going to be stuck somewhere anyway, so waiting on hold isn't an inconvenience.

To be fair, making a filter is often easier, but sometimes thats not practical (companies sending mail from multiple addresses, or you need some mail from them) and sometimes I just feel stubborn and want to make them fix their problem.

Send an email to every email address on this page and remind them that under the CAN-SPAM act they must unsubscribe you within 10 days.

As someone who works in political email, I'd recommend emailing info@dscc.org before spamming everyone on that page -- it's possible their unsubscribe page is broken or you're running into some user error. They should be monitoring the info@ account to address situations like this.

CAN-SPAM doesn't apply to political e-mail, only commercial.

Recently had the same issue with the same organization. They spammed me, so I filed them as spam. If any organization doesn't respect email preferrences, I show no mercy. If an unsub link gives a message "may take x days to unsub," I go back and label them spam. I'm guessing those delays that's because they play around with subscriber lists and only finalize changes weekly (or maybe it's because their email-blast vendor sucks), but either way, I take it as a sign of organization incompetence, and they can reap what they sow.

But yes, file as spam and there's no longer a problem.
