Science plaything identification

Asking for a relative: Anyone know what this thing is called or better know where to buy one? Apparently "the water spouts out when it warms up".

Sorry for the potato quality picture. The object broke years ago and this is the only picture my sister's boyfriend has of the object. Picture shows the object after breaking.

Best answer: Yeah, I think it's a hand boiler. Here's one that looks pretty similar to the one in the photo.
