Best pregnancy tracking app?

I'm very newly pregnant (5 weeks)! I would like an app to track things and teach me things about each stage of fetal development on my iphone. Can you please tell me which one to use?

There are many options; I am overwhelmed and I don't have real-life friends who have had kids who can give me personal recommendations. I would like an app that is not too cutesy, that I don't have to pay for, and that--and this is important--does not make me watch videos to get information. I hate videos.

Any recommendations?

I really liked Ovia. It was pretty straightforward and not too touchy-feely. I had used it for tracking ovulation and it was pretty seamless to switch over when pregnant. I also really really got a kick out of the Alpha mom week by week calendar.

I used and enjoyed Glow Nurture. I also completely agree about the Alpha Mom weekly calendar - I loved reading the next installment each week!

Congrats!!

My daughter is 4, so I'm not up on the latest apps, but I never found one I really liked. As already mentioned, the Alpha Mom weekly calendar was great, and also the Spacefem Daily Pregnancy Calendar and Weekly Pregnancy Blog. On that one, you can enter your data and it will track where you are automatically.

My wife and I used Glow Nurture, then Glow Baby post-birth, and have really liked both.

I like Ovia- little articles about development, countdown to birth, themes you can select on what item you want to show you baby's size (I have Fun & Games- baby is size of a toy soldier!).

App developers, if you're listening, what I REALLY want in a pregnancy app is a screen that shows you how many days it's been since you've barfed.

Yes yes yes to Alpha Mom. I read it to my husband every week. You can give it your due date and it will send you the appropriate email once a week.

I use Ovia, but I don't love it. It feels cluttered, and there have been at least a couple of articles that I have hate-read to my husband (we recently got one about "how to get your partner to do things for you" that was kinda gross). We got him signed up for daily emails, but he can't get to any of the links (he doesn't have the app installed, maybe that's why?). And there are SO many advertisements.

Based on the other comments, I just downloaded Glow Nurture to compare. So far it seems way less spammy, so that's something.

Side note, if you have a partner with whom you will have to agree on baby names, we really enjoyed Kinder. It's Tinder for baby names!

I have a 5 week old baby! Ovia was pretty popular among my pregnant women friends.

Not entirely answering your question but helpful, I hope: there’s a Reddit site called babybumps that’s a great resource, and even better than those are the monthly due date subreddits. And even better than that are the secret Facebook groups based on the monthly due date subreddits. I’m in a FB group with 300 other moms whose babies were born the same month as mine, and it’s been an amazingly valuable source of information. It’s so helpful to hear about the whole range of what can happen and what’s considered normal, both during pregnancy and during the newborn time period (and probably going forward too). The subreddit for your due date month is probably just starting to get going, and the Facebook group might not be active yet, but I would suggest looking into it. I’ve found those groups to be 1000x more informative and helpful than any of the many apps I looked at while pregnant.

I got the bump app and its pretty chill. has weekly updates e.g. your kid is the size of an apple! and sweet graphics that show how your kiddo/body is developing. also has other content like articles, when to book certain stuff and what to ask your doc.

Congrats! I have a 3 week old; when I was pregnant I really enjoyed Ovia, and also the What to Expect app. I’d also like to nth the babybumps subreddit, and the due date subreddit. I learned a lot from those and it was so nice to see what others were going through that were around the same stage of pregnancy as me. Congrats again!
