Moldy pothos

I’ve got some pothos that lives in water. I’ve just returned from ten days away, and I’ve found that it’s covered in mold. I tried wiping off the mold and putting it in fresh water, but a day later the mold is just as prominent. How do I make this pothos happy again?

Response by poster: The mold in this case is in the water and coating the roots, not on the leaves.

Pothos is pretty hardy and easy. It's hard to tell how much plant you have from the photo, but I'd just cut off the plant just about where the rim of the glass is. Then put the new stem into a new clean glass. (Be sure to wash the old glass thoroughly.) Pull off the bottom set of leaves if needed.

I would cut off the part that's been submerged in water and shove the remainder in some dirt. Water it and wait. It'll do just fine, I swear. I used to root my pothos vines in water but now I just put them in dirt and I get the same results, but without any mold or stagnant water.

Seconding wash the glass thoroughly.

Response by poster: I shoved it in some dirt and it is indeed fine.
