Converting asf to mp3

I need a free program to convert asf audio files to mp3. Google provides plenty of programs, but they all require payment to convert the entire file.

Windows platform? If so, this freeware is featured as being able to do what you want.

I use a program called Switch, but I have the paid version; I can't say for sure whether or not asf is one of the supported files in the free version.

Excuse me, I was mistaken. Switch doesn't support asf at all, it was AIF that I was referring to. Trash that idea, although the program as a whole is very useful; it support most filetypes.

.asf is often exactly the same format as .wma, especially if it was created recently. So try renaming the file to .wma and using any free utility which can convert wma files (winamp with the disk writer output plugin, for example).
