Spoil Riverdale for me

I enjoyed the first season of Riverdale, but stopped watching in the second season when I disliked the main arc of (at least) the first few episodes. Where should I start watching again?

I really hate serial killer stories and I don't want to watch any of that. If it's the whole season, that's good to know (and I'll look at next season when it starts up again). If it was only a short arc, where did it wrap up (and anything big I need to know about)? I've got episodes 5-22 recorded, so I can dip in anywhere that makes sense.

Best answer: I just finished watching Riverdale!

So here's the problem. In episode 9, the identity of the serial killer is apparently revealed, and the apparent serial killer dies. So the serial killer plot-line seems to be over, and the next 9 episodes are about other things. But in episode 18, it's revealed that the dead apparent serial killer was set up, and the real serial killer is still out there. The real serial killer is apprehended in episode 21.

It is the whole second season, sorry to say, and it is gruesome and nonsensical and IMO not worth putting yourself through it. The second season also has none or very few of the good parts of the first season either. Here’s hoping season 3 is a return to campy fun. If you want spoilers memail me and I can give you the scoop!

I did, too! Like, literally last night! I think the serial killer stuff at the end is much less serial-killer focused, and more about the Lodges and the Serpents. You’d probably be okay starting up after the fake serial killer dies.

Best answer: Eh, the serial killer plot goes into remission, but I don't think season 2 is worth it. Maybe pick up with episode 10 and see if it grabs you. In retrospect, though, the only episode of season 2 I would recommend to myself is the musical episode, which I think is 18. They do Carrie: The Musical and it is glorious (though also the reintroduction of the dumb serial killer plot, but not til the end of the ep).

Agree with the above. I've lost interest as the season drags on.

Response by poster: Okay, so I thought I still had those recordings, but apparently I filled up my DVR, so this took a little longer. I was going to just wait until the DVDs came in at the library, but then I heard To All The Boys I Loved Before was a Netflix film, which meant it was time for a Netflix month. I started at episode 10 and could not watch another episode of Archie being a patsy. Episode 18, with the Carrie musical was awesome and I loved it even more for not having watched all the drama that led up to it. After just enough of episode 19 to see that Midge really was dead and we were diving right back into the serial killer, I went for the finale. Looks like they're ready for season 3 to be even more bonkers.

At first, back when I was watching The Vampire Diaries, I loved how they burned through seasons worth of plot in an episode or two. It was glorious. And then they went completely off the rails and it was less fun. Riverdale is not as fun now and I really can't see how that's coming back. Thanks for helping me finish up with it, you all.
