Experience Hotel in or around Los Angeles

Need to vacate my place for 5 days for termite fumigation. I could just find some cheapish local place to stay, but I'm thinking why not make an experience of it. Are there any places in or around Los Angeles that provide an experience that is worth the extra spend?

My first thought was Chateau Marmont, but I'm not much of a celebrity chaser, so I don't know if that experience is worth the cost. I live near the beach, so the beach on its own isn't much of a draw. For work, we would be commuting to Mid-Wilshire near LACMA and to where the 405 and 110 joint up, so something central would be nice, but not a requirement. Could also consider leaving town if there's a great destination, but it isn't a good time for that for either of us. This will be early to mid-August.

You say "we." If there's two of you and you're partnered, check out the Farmer's Daughter Hotel across the street from CBS Television City.

The Magic Castle hotel is very nice with a 24hr heated pool with an emergency popsicle phone. Plus as long as the actual magic castle isn't too busy you can get passes with your room. The hotel is converted apartment building so the room my friend had was just a 1 bedroom apartment with a full kitchen. The Magic Castle is indeed magic.

I don't have any specific suggestions, but check out airbnb for some unique ideas. There were some cool Victorians we could have rented on a recent trip to Seattle that we missed out on.

The Line is really close to LACMA on Wilshire, has 2 Roy Choi restaurants and an ‘80s themed speakeasy and is steps from all the fun in Koreatown. I stayed there last year and enjoyed it.

As someone who staycations a lot in Los Angeles, I think the Nomad Hotel is my favorite hotel atm. The rooftop just opened too.
