Is it possible to input categories on Wordpress the same way as tags?

What I'd really like to type them in with commas between, instead of having to scroll through the check boxes (or start typing the word and checking the box for each category). I've imported by Tumblr over and I have 20,000+ posts to categorize and it's a pain! Does anyone know of a way to do this?

Sure. You can create a CSV file and use an importing plugin like WP All Import.
