Happy love songs

What's your favourite love song from the past 10 years?

I like slow songs about being happily in love. I'm looking for new ones. Nothing dark or depressing or lonely please. They don't have to be SWEET (realistic is good too) but they do have to be overall positive. And most importantly - they have to be fairly recent. What have you got?

Janelle Monae has a number of happy love songs; if you're looking for slow in particular, "Primetime" springs to mind.

My husband and I are fond of this one - Tim Minchin, "If I didn't have you."

It’s very mainstream but how about Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud?

Just squeaks in at 10 years old, but I walked down the aisle at my wedding to Royal Wood - I'm So Glad.

Ten years is both so long and so specific! I will always love “Maps” for the emotion in the rendition and its ease of use at karaoke.

Kind of a complex love song, and not happy happy, but this has been on repeat for me the past few months. I can't hear enough of it - H.C. McEntire - A Lamb, A Dove

Futon Couch by Missy Higgins came out a few weeks ago. It's the story of how she met her husband and is so joyful. This piano version is slower than the album version.
Also, Marry Me by Train (and Hey, Soul Sister and a bunch of others).
Nancy Mulligan by Ed Sheeran (his grandparent's love story). Perfect as well but that's everywhere.

Kimbra, Miracle, is right up your alley. (The video is...off-putting, though.)

(Oh, dang, I missed "slow.")

Ed Sheeran's Paen (How would you feel). It doesn't seem to be as popular as some of his other songs, but I really like it. (And my husband chose it for our first dance wedding song, so I'm probably biased.)

Raided my wedding playlist for these:

Lovely sweet thing from Fionn Regan's 2011 album: For a Nightingale - he is so good at these understated little beauties.

Here's another one, by Alexander, A Million Years . Also from 2011, must have been a good year for romance.

One more, this time squeaking in from 2009 - All My Days by Alexi Murdoch.

And your cheeky bonus prize - Peter Gabriel's version of Book of Love. The original falls outside of your bracket but this cover doesn't! Wasn't on the playlist but needs throwing in the pot anyway because it's lovely.

Do covers count? Adele's version (2011) of The Cure's Love Song (1989) is a favorite.

It's not exactly slow, but it's on the top of my mind (my daughter's band performed it last week) and it fills a void in the usual love song lineup, as it is about the feeling of having been in love with someone for a long time, as opposed to puppy love: Still Into You by Paramore. The chorus:

I should be over all the butterflies
but I'm into you, I'm into you
And even baby on our worst nights
I'm into you, I'm into you
Let 'em wonder how we got this far,
'Cause I don't really need to wonder at all
Yeah, after all this time
I'm still into you

Agree with Call Me Maybe but would also consider Run Away With Me and Cut to the Feeling. So much unabashed joyous love and so catchy too, all of them.

Troye Sivan's Bloom released this year is about a.. erm .. loving act between two people.

There is also his song Youth

(I'm on a Troye Sivan kick at the moment)

This is WAY beyond the ten year cutoff, and not slow, but happy but timeless: Jackie Wilson Said (I'm In Heaven When You Smile) — the Dexy's version from 36 years ago. (And maybe also the Van Morrison version from 46 years ago)

Sorry it's outside the parameters, but hey.

Two from alt-country artist William Clark Green - Creek Don't Rise this one is about a couple together trying to get a night out. This one is kinda fast.

This one is more funny - about two opposites but are perfect for one another: She Likes the Beatles, I like the Stones

Robert Earl Keen - Feeling Good Again
Future Islands - Seasons - Waiting on You
