Best app for tracking gas spent for mile

I'm doing an experiment with a rental car to see if having a car makes my life easier. I would like to get an app that will let me track how much I'm spending on gas per mile. What's the best iOS app for that? There seems to be a lot of options and I'd rather not have to do a bunch of trial and error.

Way back before smartphones I used index cards to record how much I spent on each tank of gas and the odometer reading and this way I could see what my gas mileage was. Something like that is I think what I'm thinking of. Except, not on index cards (lol).

Best answer: Fuelly looks good (I wasn't aware of it until this thread).

If that doesn't meet your needs, the one I've used for close to 10 years is Road Trip MPG. It's been very reliable,and it's easy to use.
