What to do with orangey simple syrup?

As a byproduct of making orangettes, I have in my fridge about 1 cup of orange peel-infused simple syrup. It is lightly floral and citrusy (but not overly so), and, of course, very sweet. What should I do with it?

Put it in bourbon.

Mix a tablespoon or two with plain seltzer for orange soda.

Use it for a little added orange flavor in some Cam Slams. I had my first one yesterday. I'm not a beer drinker and I thought it was good! Better yet, try substituting Blue Moon, which is already often served with an orange wedge.

Make milk puddings and serve with the orange-infused syrup instead of honey.

Sweeten your tea with it.

This sounds like it'd be perfect for old fashioneds, if you are inclined towards whiskey cocktails.

I would be tempted to adapt my favorite Lemon Cake recipe to be an Orange Cake.

Already mentioned: it should be good as a sweetener for tea (black tea, presumably; Earl Gray is flavored with bergamot, so there's a known flavor affinity there). I don't drink much tea so I'd probably just try it in an old fashioned.

If you want to get meta you could use it to preserve cherries. Our usual recipe has some lemon juice for acidity, and I've done spiced cherries with cinnamon stick, mace, and orange peel in the jar. You're already one ingredient ahead. I don't know how long it has sat at what temperature, but heavy simple syrup does suppress a lot of bad stuff. Regardless, make sure you cook it hot enough for long enough for safe canning (see your local safe canning guide).

I'd use it in margaritas, in place of the regular simple syrup!

Use it as a glaze with honey and anise for roasted or bbq chicken
Add crushed cranberries for Turkey instead

Use it in a stir-fry for a sweet-tart flavour. Ginger beef with orange?

Lemon Orange drizzle cake. Maybe dilute the syrup a little with orange juice if it is very sweet.

Pancakes - a little in the batter as a flavoring, or on top in place of maple syrup.

I'm not a mixologist, but it should make a killer cocktail.

Mix with water in decent proportions, freeze in ice cube trays with tooth picks sticking out, and enjoy orange pops. :)

Orangey simple syrup plus vodka is basically triple sec, the orange liqueur, and the vodka is added for preservation, not flavor. So I would use it in margaritas, or a "cowboy cosmo" where bourbon is substituted for vodka, or anything with triple sec.

Nth the suggestion for using it as a sweetener for tea, especially iced black tea.

Pour over vanilla ice cream, pound cake, or hot gingerbread.

When I make lemoncello, I infuse vodka with lemon peels, then add simple syrup. I suspect you could mix it with a bottle of vodka for orangecello, if you were so inclined. Add more vodka if it's too sweet, or more simple syrup if it isn't sweet enough.
