Alienware laptop: I need/want to see the temperature that my laptop is running at. Recently it seems to be hotter than usual. Does anyone know stats for Alienware laptops? (board details, etc...?) Or of applications/hardware that monitors this sort of thing?

Any standard monitoring program should work, like hmonitor, mbm, mobilemeter, speedfan, etc.

Speedfan is a free piece of software that will monitor your temperatures. If you don't have the proper sensors, however, it will not work.

Just another recommendation for the already-linked Motherboard Monitor (mbm). It's not laptop-specific, but it should work for you.

You might consider a little known application by the name of Notebook Hardware Control. I've been using it with my notebook computer for the past couple of weeks. It also contains support for CPU voltage control and SMART, among other things that notebook users could find useful.

Does your BIOS not tell you?

You'd might to take a look at the CPU usage in the Task Manager, to make sure that there is no application that is using 100% of the CPU.
