I am trying to create an asset map of community resources and visually depict community stakeholders. What is a stragithforward way to do this? I have never used Visio, do they have a trial offer, is this the easiest program? I am looking to create something like this or this -- but I can't find the original. Is there a way to write on this? maybe in powerpoint thank you

I think the easiest way would be to redraw the circles in PowerPoint and populate. If you have the latest version of Windows PowerPoint it has built-in Icons which would be useful for this. (Insert Icons - next to Shapes).

Look up mindmapping software as an alternative to Visio (CMap is one).

KateViolet's suggestion also applies to Excel, which is under-appreciated as a tool for making diagrams like this.

The free LibreOffice Draw will easily handle this as well.

draw.io is a free, web-based flowchart tool, like Visio. I prefer Visio but I've used draw.io in a pinch.
