Single device webcam/mic needed for Skype

My mom needs help with Skype. Her issue is: she wants a single device she can hook to her (not awesome, not so new, but solid) PC that will comfortably run Skype without a lot of rebooting, settings fiddling, etc. Features beyond "nice picture and sound" much less important than "plug and play," "seldom craps out," "very low bar for PC expertise needed." What do you recommend?

Best answer: Does it have to connect to her PC? Skype on a tablet is about as simple as it can get. It's the easiest way I can think of to optimize your "very low bar for PC expertise needed" criterion.

Best answer: Consider one of the cheap Amazon tablets for the purpose. If that's not acceptable to her, I've had good luck with Logitech webcams in the past.

Response by poster: Good thoughts from both of you! I ordered her a new Amazon tablet. It was only $50 and it turns out much of her Skype confusion may have been caused by her old tablet crapping out anyway.
