Men's Fall Wedding Fashion: last minute, separates, tight budget

I waited until the last minute to put together something for a friend's fall wedding. I am unfortunately 3 states away from my safe, low effort suits. I won't actually be present for the wedding (they're doing a smaller ceremony and then inviting everyone to the reception) so I feel slightly less pressure for a full suit, and it will be indoors. For budgetary reasons I'd like to go with separates, and due to time constraints it's going to have to be something that fits decently off the rack.

I've budgeted about $150 for the outfit, and would prefer to only be buying a jacket and tie.

I have dark grey, light grey, black, and khaki colored dress pants (obviously jeans too, but I don't want to go that informal). I only have a black pair of dress shoes at the moment, and don't feel like buying another pair, so the shoes will have to be black.

I found a black wool jacket at Nordstrom Rack that fits really well, and that is within my limited price range. If I go with a black jacket, then would dark grey pants work? Should I match with black pants that aren't part of the same pair? Go with another color altogether?

I'm considering a dress shirt with a little color (this pattern - the white balance is off, and it's essentially a patterned white shirt). If I go with this shirt, should I try to pick a tie to match the maroon colored dots? Or should I play it safe and just do a shirt with some other tie?

I'm also OK with none of the above, and recommendations on other separate styles that would go well together.

I think your dress shirt link is broken, unfortunately.

Maybe: black wool jacket / dark grey pants / patterned shirt / plain dark grey tie to match pants?

A guy at my cousin's wedding managed to pull off a black suit coat/blazer and black chinos.

Response by poster: Thanks LobsterMitten! Also, I had forgotten, but I took a picture of the jacket. It has a very subtle herringbone pattern to it, so I'm a little concerned (between the different color pants and the patterned shirt) that there's too much going on, but I'd love opinions:
Here's a picture with a very similar shirt (but not the same) for color reference.

Best answer: I think the outfit you have planned is fine. Go and have fun and relax.

Best answer: yeah, I think the shirt and jacket go great together. I like mixing patterns and texture like that. I think I'd go with either dark grey or black for the pants. Probably black to go with your shoes.
