Please help me find specific high-res images of sushi.

I’ve been tasked with drafting a sushi and wine promotion. I need high res images of types of sushi on a plain white background like this. I have searched all of the stock photo sites (Getty, Shutterstock, iStock, AdbobeStock, etc.) to no avail: they have lots of images but they’re artsy. Surely there’s a resource I am missing since there are a gazillion sushi menus out there with straightforward photos.

Most restaurants take photos of the food they are actually selling, rather than using stock images. That's probably why you aren't finding menu images.

You don't mention who the promotion is actually for. If it's a restaurant, then your patrons will appreciate you taking photos of your actual food. If it's e.g. a wine shop, or some kind of event, perhaps you can contact some local sushi restaurants and ask if you can use their photos (offer a photo credit).

I would use the keywords sushi isolated on white background

One trick you can try is run a Google image search then click "tools" and filter usage rights by "labeled for reuse" -- doing that for the search sushi white background gave me this set of images.

On Getty, search "sushi cutout" ("cutout" being the term for isolated images on a flat white background). In particular, you'll find this image. Scroll down on that page to "Similar Images" and you'll find more that might be helpful to you.

Response by poster: Kindall: it's a promotion for the wine to pair with sushi. The object is to offer a table card to the restaurant that has visual identification of the types of sushi.
CDA: I tried that but there isn't enough variety available.
RabbitRabbit: I tried that as well. I need individual pieces of sushi that I can arrange on a plate.
McDuff: I tried that as well but I need more kinds of sushi than the few they have. (And boy-howdy are they expensive!)

I assume you've tried searching the specific names of the kinds of sushi you need?

Depositphotos has several that look like what you link to as an example. I used "sushi isolated on white" as the search phrase.

Response by poster: RR: Yes. I can find many different types on a white background but the color and light values are wildly different which will look horrible. In a perfect world I'd hire a photographer and shoot them but the client doesn't have the budget. Given the many sushi charts that are out there, similar to the example I linked to, I'm in disbelief that a high res file doesn't exist somewhere. I've been to a lot of mom and pop sushi places in NYC and SF and the menu photography is identical. I have even tried to find if there is a sushi trade group somewhere. :-)

Can you scan one of these menus? (I am a photographer and this is bad advice.)

More bad advice is to just shoot them yourself. This project seems like it’s impossible, so “good enough” will have to do. But get a plate of the sushi you need, next to a nice daytime window for lighting, and it will be faster and better than all of this.

Best answer: Can the client cover $35? There's this set on Creative Market that includes nigiri (more at the end of the set), rolls and cones.

Response by poster: Paperback! This is PRECISELY what I was looking for. Thank you and thank all of you for your help.
