Modern honky tonk slow dance

I want to make a playlist with a particular sound. I don't know how to describe said sound other than it reminds me of slow dancing at a honky tonk, as perfectly exemplified by this scene in The Leftovers (possible season 2 spoilers). I would prefer modern takes on this genre.

So far I have only two songs that really fit:
Sturgill Simpson- The Promise
Cotton Jones Basket Ride- The Spinning Wheel

I've added You Belong to Me by Patsy Cline, mostly because I love it and the sound is right, but it doesn't fit my "modern take" requirement.

Elvis Costello has recorded some songs in their vein that you might like. For example - the very usefully named "Blame it on Cain (honky tonk demo)"

Perhaps a few slow covers of One Promise Too Late?

You might like Heavy Angel by Flesh for Lulu. You should do, it's a goth, honky tonk, bar blues, slide guitar classic.

If you do then you'll also probably also like their Bloodshot Moon and Rent Boy.

If female vocals are okay, also check out some Mazzy Star?
