Devils Tower, Wyoming by public transport - is this possible?

I have a significant birthday coming up in a year or so, and am seriously comtemplating spending the actual day at the location of my favorite movie. But I don't (conventionally) drive, and may be totally reliant on public transport. Options appear to be ... zero. No Amtrak lines, and no coach lines (unless I've missed an obscure one). Is it possible at all to get there, in September, without driving? If not, how much - roughly - would a cab/taxi cost from the nearest town or city with a public transport connection?

You could take a Greyhound bus to Rapid City and then take this tour bus to Devil's Tower itself.

Your best bet is Gillette, which you can fly into on a little puddle jumper and is closer than Rapid City. It's about an hour away, and you could call any of these taxi services and see what it costs. Or use the base rate of Uber in Gillette (it's about 60 miles from Gillette.) There is no public transport. Moorcroft, Sundance, Hulett. . . those are all pretty small towns that you'd have to get to anyway and it's doubtful they have any service. (Frankly, the idea of Moorcroft having a taxi made me laugh out loud.)

Now, the Greyhound/Trailways bus system does go through the area but just follows the interstate (I-90), so you could use that to get roughly to the NE corner of WY if need be.

Or I could drive you. Absolutely serious. Check your MeMail!

Take barchan up on their offer. It's really hard to get around much of WY (and really, big chunks of CO/MT/UT) without an appropriate vehicle and a capable driver.

Cab service in WY is inconsistent to non-existent. Flying into Gillette sucks, unless you're really into tiny planes and turbulence.
