[Jet Grind/Set Radio filter] - very out of character but i love the music to the Dreamcast game "Jet Grind Radio." especially one song, who is the artist and what is this type of music called/what other albums are good and similar?

i don't know the name of the song does it does not seem to be on any of the CDs available (at least that i can find), the main lyrics go something like "a territory is a territory" repeatedly. i would guess it is by Hideki Naganuma as the other tracks by him(?) are the ones i like also. usually i like punk, indie rock, brit pop and the like, but these songs have stuck in my head for years now. so what is this kind of music called? and is this anything else like it out there?

(you can't direct-link to Gamefaqs)

Most of the tracks on that album are kind of a mash of funk, punk, hiphop and electronic influences. I remember that track as being electronically-tinged funk, but I could be wrong.

Besides, everyone should own some funk albums.

Best answer: I haven't played this game in a long time nor do I know the song, but check here :

dreamcast.ign.com/articles/086/086308p1.html

Google lesson follows (meant to be helpful, not snarky)

Found by googling this :

jgr dreamcast soundtrack songs

Then clicking this :

www.nbrid.net/museum/evo/articles/gameover/music/Cali_Love1021867603.php

Then adding Yellow Beam to my search :

jgr dreamcast soundtrack songs yellow beam

Then it's the third link. I'm curioius what the actual track is now.

I'm not certain, but I think Jet Grind Radio has a jukebox mode that lets you listen to the songs in the game. I know I used to listen to that Jurassic 5 song sometimes. I recommend you try that out.

Response by poster: i have the soundtrack music, i just don't think this song is on there, perhaps i did not explain that well. i will listen to them again though, perhaps i just missed it. thanks for the links though!

The link I posted has many songs not on the CD release of the game soundtrack, and according to the article it is a comprehensive listing. You might want to give them a listen if you haven't already.

It's definitely Funky Radio by, B.B. Rights. I found a copy and there is a repeated "the territory is the territory".

Just to let you know, I acquired three of my favorite songs from the game through...."alternate means" let's just say, and if you'd like I can send you the MP3's.

Hideki Naganuma - Humming The Baseline ( I believe this is from the Character Select screen.)

Hideki Naganuma - Rock It On (From one of the levels. Not sure which.)

Hideki Naganuma - That's Enough (Actually, this might be the character select screen, it's hard to tell.)

Well this is wonderful, now I have to go pull my Dreamcast out of storage to get my fix of the game, thanks alot ;)
