Han Solo, TV DInner

Back around the days of Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, I remember seeing a depiction of Han Solo, frozen in carbonite, as a tv dinner (like Swanson). It was either in Mad, Cracked or Crazy (my three favorite magazines at the time). I have scoured the internet, delved through the Mad, Cracked and Crazy archives, but have not been able to find this image. Did it even exist? Hope me, Metafilter, you're my only help.

Perhaps you are thinking of this recent Han Solo in Carbonite Silicone Ice Tray?

Response by poster: Nelson - that's awesome, but definitely not it. I'm fairly sure is was in Mad, Crazy or Cracked. If I recall, the image of Han Solo frozen in carbonate as a frozen tv dinner was just a one-off gag in the story panel (as Mad, Cracked and Crazy were prone to doing).

Response by poster: Another thing - I specifically remember being able to see peas and carrots frozen in the carbonite.

I remember it, too (or else you're a very persuasive writer). I read all three but mostly Mad, sometimes Cracked, only a few issues of Crazy. I don't remember the peas and carrots. We have a few issues around here, I'll see if it shows up.

Best I could find. I remember it as being in a busier panel.

Response by poster: Hmm..seeing Don Martin's work makes me think it's -not- Mad. My memory tells me that the picture was very detailed. I distinctly remember Han Solo actually looking like Han Solo. The fact that this was at least 30 years ago may also mean that I'm completely wrong :)

Best answer: I remember that and I'm pretty sure it was in a Cracked parody drawn by John Severin. I remember Darth Vader commenting that Han's TV dinner tray also had peas, carrots and apple brown betty, because I had to ask my mom what apple brown betty was.

Best answer: Great memory, Ursula Hitler! The panel appeared in 'The Empire Strikes Out' from Cracked no. 173. It's on the top of page 6 (third image) in this scan.

Response by poster: YES!!! All thanks be to Ursula Hitler and prinado! My recollection of it was more colorful, but I'll just chalk that up the the bright memories of youth. Thank you!!

And thanks for the try, corpse in the library :)
