In Delhi for work -- advice about where to travel for ten days after?

I'm in Delhi right now working for the next four weeks and looking for a couple of travel destinations for about ten days. There are SO MANY THINGS I'm having trouble making a decision about where to go.
Some things about me: late twenties female, traveling with my partner, pretty adventurous, but first time to travel outside of North America. We've been walking around Delhi sightseeing the last four days and honestly, the heat and the hustle bustle of the city hasn't been overwhelming. We really would do anything -- beaching, mountaining, visiting old architecture, seeing animals -- it's just hard to make a choice of which to go to.
Right now, we're thinking of spending three nights in the Andaman Islands and then heading to Darjeeling or maybe Gangtok if the unrest in Darjeeling doesn't cease by the end of July.
Do you all have advice? Have you visited those places and think that they're worth seeing?
Additionally, outside the Taj (which is for sure on the list), can you think of any must do weekend trips from Delhi?

You want to avoid the west coast this time of year, it's the monsoons which means the rain comes pouring down.
Since you've done Delhi, for a contrast I'd recommend the South, but Chennai rather than Kerala. It's much more chill and laid back, and slightly less hot, although very humid. And Pondicherry isn't too far a drive away!

I was in Delhi in June years ago, and the heat was miserable! I myself decided to go to Ladakh, which was amazing. I went overland up and flew back down. I loved the entire experience - Ladakh is a really special place.

Jaipur is very pretty and worth a couple days, easy to do from Delhi (although I don't recommend what we did in driving Delhi-Agra-Jaipur all in one day with a couple hour stop at the Taj, it was too much for one day.
During your remaining Delhi stay you should really consider checking out Café Lota at the national crafts museum. Excellent creative/diverse takes on regional food in a modern tone.
