Can you recommend a nice, affordable hotel in Dublin?

I'll be in Dublin for just one day next month on my way to southern Ireland. I'd like to stay someplace good enough, but not super spiffy, since my stay is so short. I got the name of one place but it's $210 per night. I'd love to find something just a bit cheaper. Since I'm only there a day, central location is key, as I expect I'll just wander around. Any firsthand recommendations are greatly appreciated.
Where do you need to get from when you arrive in Dublin and to when you're leaving the next day?

Response by poster: I'll be coming from the airport, and the next morning going to the train station to take a train to Cork.

What day of the week? Because I like The Morgan in Temple Bar and stay there often, but would never stay on a Friday or Saturday night because it is in Temple Bar. This is going to be the case for a lot of hotels, doubly so during summer.
(Not that we're having a summer.)
PS: Send me a MeMail if you want to meetup with a friendly MeFite in Cork!

I'm restricting my answers to places that either I or friends have stayed in around the city centre.
The day of the week will matter because, like DarlingBri, I'd avoid Temple Bar on a weekend night. I'd probably also avoid Harcourt Street on a weekend night because that can be noisy thanks to some nightclubs on that street.
Somewhere like Jury's Inn Christchurch might work and it'd be quick and easy to get to a taxi to Heuston Station for the train to Cork the next morning.
I stayed in the Travelodge a couple of years ago before I moved back to Dublin. It's basic but very central.
Some work colleagues have used Trinity City Hotel or one of the O'Callaghan hotels but you probably wouldn't save much money with those unless you happened across a good deal.

I am in Dublin 3-4 times a year and always stay at the Sandymount. It's affordable, has a good breakfast with free newspapers, has good enough free wifi, is on the DART, bus lines, and is a cheap taxi to St. Stephen's Green, Merrion Sq. etc. Also easily walked on foot. Not central, but not peripheral either. Definitely better value than places in centre of town.

I stayed at Latchfords of Baggot Street, just outside the centre so quiet but an easy walk in. Cheap and has self catering equipment .
