Is this phone number a mobile or landline? What web sites/apps do this?

At work, my boss has asked me to verify a few thousand numbers, as to whether they are cell phone numbers or landlines. Preferably by uploading a spreadsheet that feeds back results, rather than one by one. Any advice? Thanks. (both free and paid solutions considered)

Sounds like it would cost approximately $1 per 1000. Bash script a curl command and you should be set.

Response by poster: These are 99% US phones, about 1% Canadian.

Twilio can also do this (although it's more expensive than everyoneapi).

Numbers can be ported between the two, so any data or database that you use will only be a snapshot and can be or become outdated. If this project is to comply with the law, you should take steps to keep the data current.

I had a pretty good experience with https://www.searchbug.com/

Check out RealPhoneValidation. The RPV carrier lookup is in realtime for up to the minute accuracy. If you only want to check a few numbers there is a tool to perform the search right on the web page. Looking for more than a few numbers RPV offers API & batch validation.
