Video of my grandfather's birthday announcement on the morning news

My grandfather's 100th birthday was announced on KTLA morning news this morning sometime before 7am. Is there a way to get a free copy of the tape or digital video file? Any chance someone in the MetaFilter community has it on their DVR?

I contacted KTLA and I was told a third party provides tapes of their broadcast for $40. Is there a cheaper alternative?

Did you check their website and see if you can rewatch a stream from this morning? If yes, you could film that with your phone.

That's so nice! I'd contact them and see if they can send it to you.

Also if they have the stream on their website, you could screencast it using something like Jing.
